Electric Vs. Traditional Floss And Toothbrushes

Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important thing that you can do for your teeth and gums. Healthy teeth not only enables you to look and feel good, they make it possible to eat and speak properly. Good oral health is important to your overall well-being. Daily preventive care, including proper brushing and flossing will help stop problems before they develop and is much less painful, expensive and  worrisome than treating condition that have been allowed to program. Good oral hygiene results in a mouth that looks and smells healthy. This means your teeth are clean and free of debris. Gums are pink and don’t hurt or bleed when you brush or floss.

Your dentist can help you learn good oral hygiene techniques and can help point out area of your mouth that may require extra attention during brushing and flossing. The cause for poor oral hygiene is usually the patient’s failure to maintain good oral hygiene habits, such as regular brushing and flossing of teeth to remove plaque and tartar from the teeth. Sugar and acidic foods and habits of smoking can also result in poor oral hygiene and dental diseases. Oral health touches every aspect of our lives but is often taken for granted.

FLOSSING
Water flossing :- A water flosser is an oral irrigator and sometimes it is called a water pick. It’s a cleaning device that shoots a thin stream of water and when aimed between your teeth or at the gum line, it can remove food particles and plaque on or between your teeth. Waterpick is the most popular version of electric water flosser. If your regular brushing routine is working fine, you probably don’t require to use water flosser.
Traditional floss :- Traditional floss can help in removing food particles, bacteria and plaque in between teeth. Its effective but flossing depends on the individual. Traditional floss can be more difficult to control, especially if someone has limited use of their hands or fingers. Sometimes it’s difficult to clean the mouth with traditional flossing. It requires skilled fingers to unwrap a new section of floss for each tooth and it can be difficult to reach between teeth in the back of the mouth.


TOOTHBRUSHES
Electric toothbrush :- Electric tooth brush can be a time saver and can do more thorough cleaning job. It can take less time to properly clean yourteeth. This is a great aspect for those who are reluctant to brush twice a day. At the other end as it is electric so it needs to be charged, hence can’t be used during travelling where there is an issue of charging.
Traditional toothbrush :- The biggest benefit of manual toothbrush is that you have more control over the way that you brush your teeth. You can decide that how fast and how hard to brush your teeth and gums. This results in a more comfortable cleaning for those who have sensitive areas in their mouth or who find the constant vibrations of electric toothbrushes to be aggravated.


BETTER OPTION :- It varies from person to person that what feels better and sounds good for your mouth. Its your decision that you are comfortable by using electric or manual tooth brush, or you prefer water flosser or traditional flossing.

You can practice good oral hygiene by always brushing your teeth twice a day, cleaning between your teeth at least once a day with floss. Replacing your toothbrush every two or three months and by eating a balanced diet. Don’t forget to schedule regular dental check-ups to keep your smile pleasant and to keep yourself healthy. All the products will do the job well.
